Carleton University's Art History program invites applications for a
tenure-track position in the field of 17th- and 18th-century European
art and architecture. The position is at the rank of Assistant
Professor and will begin July 1, 2010. The successful candidate will
teach a range of Art History courses from first-year undergraduate to
the M.A. level, supervise graduate students, and develop a program of
research leading to significant peer-reviewed publications. The
successful applicant may also supervise art history-related Ph.D.
theses in the interdisciplinary doctoral program of Carleton's
Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture.
Applicants must have a Ph.D., a strong commitment to scholarship, an
active research profile as reflected in scholarly publications, and
demonstrated excellence in teaching. Complete applications, including a
curriculum vitae, a writing sample and teaching dossier, should be sent

Applicants should also arrange for three letters of reference to be
sent separately. Initial screening of applications will begin on
December 14, 2009 and continue until the position is filled.
